ELECTION 1996

Log Cabin Republicans' endorsements for 1996

Cleveland-The following are the Log Cabin Republicans endorsements for selected offices in Northeast Ohio:

For U.S. House, 10th District: Martin R. Hoke

Martin Hoke has met with our organization on several occasions. He has demonstrated a willingness to work with the gay and lesbian community on many issues. While not always an ally to the community, we believe there's room for improvement. His positions on most other issues, especially economic, fall in line with those of our membership, and the alternative is not even close.

For Ohio House, 17th District: Therese Poulos

Therese Poulos is a dynamic, hard working individual. She has worked hard to make life in her community better. She is also committed to keeping a watchful eye on how our tax dollars are spent in Columbus. Whether is boarding up drug houses or neighborhood watch, Poulos has been fighting for a safer community for all. We believe the gay and lesbian community will gain tremendously by having a state representative like Therese Poulos.

For Cuyahoga County Commissioner: Lee C. Weingart

Lee has been the "watchdog for the taxpayers." He has taken the time to work with Log Cabin and meet with its membership. We believe that Lee Weingart deserves our support and the continued opportunity to

work for us at the county level. He has done a great job and we're sure he will continue to do well: Vote for Lee Weingart.

For Cuyahoga County Sheriff: Phil Parrish

It's high time our county had a sheriff who was a long time law enforcement professional. Phil Parrish is committed to providing the safest possible environment in Cuyahoga County and he'll keep tabs on this department's $55 million dollar budget and over 1100 employees. We believe Phil Parrish is the best man for the job.

For Court of Common Pleas Gail Rose Kane Stuart A. Saferin

Our Cuyahoga County courts need good strong qualified judges. Gail Rose Kane and Stuart Saferin are two of the best. Both come highly recommended by almost all of the groups and media who endorse. Stuart Saferin and Gail Rose Kane have both demonstrated a commitment to working with the gay and lesbian community and deserve our support. Remember the names Stuart A. Saferin and Gail Rose Kane.

Log Cabin National has endorsed the Bob Dole-Jack Kemp ticket for president and vice president. We support that endorsement. Whoever you decide to support, please remember to get out and vote! Your vote does count.
